Igniael plays Kingdom Hearts III - Chapter nº4: Frozen, Monsters Inc. & Winnie the Pooh!

Hi there, everyone!

It's been a little while since my last post, but I am indeed slowly yet surely progressing in Kingdom Hearts III, and boy oh boy what a good time!

In our last chapter, I had just completed the Toy Box level (from Toy Story).
This time around, I had two choices: Arendelle (from Frozen) and Monstropolis (from Monsters, Inc.), and my first choice was, of course... Arendelle!

I really loved the film, beyond the inescapable power anthem that was "Let it Go", I really liked the premise, the story and its development, it felt like a welcome change in Disney films, so of course, I wanted to play in Arendelle and explore it!
I'm not going to say I was disappointed, because I wasn't: the scenery is gorgeous, it really feels like watching the film again - albeit with a bunch of cameos from Sora, Donald and Goofy!

The thing is... again, the world felt excessively long to me.
I lost count of how many times I had to climb the goddamn mountain, and the labyrinth bit was... uncalled for, I think. Which brings me to... Larxene! OMG, Larxene! Ladies and gentlemen, our favourite Organization XIII manipulative b*tch queen is back in full splendour!
I must admit I had a laugh trying to locate Olaf's missing body parts (God, that sounds so wrong...), but I swear that if I had to listen to Donald or Goofy b*tch about how I wasn't looking hard enough one more time I would have set them on fire or something...

And, addressing the elephant in the room, there's the music video-ish "Let it Go" segment. Well...
To (sort of) use Sora's words: I have no idea what that was but wow. Idina Menzel has a one heck of a voice.

If my memory serves me right, next up was the 100 Acre Wood from Winnie the Pooh
It felt nice and endearing to see the entire cast again, plus Lumpy the Heffalump, although I felt the level this time around was way too short for my liking... Also, I miss having to find the torn pages (although I do understand that it's already been done twice) and I felt the minigames were too repetitive as opposed to what happened in Kingdom Hearts I and II (the Kingdom Hearts I version of the 100 Acre Wood is my favourite). Again, I enjoyed the idea of an insecure Sora who has lost his powers and feels his strength waning (his connection with Pooh).

Next up was Monstropolis.

It feels nice to delve into Pixar-based worlds! Monsters Inc. is not one of my favourite Pixar movies but the level felt really nice nonetheless and the story was endearing too. I liked how they dealt with Randall in a different, more "traditional" way, as opposed to him just turning into a Heartless like Mother Gothel and Hans did... I also couldn't help but laugh to myself at hearing the voice clips from the original movie when it came to Boo's voice (of course, her original voice actress is much older now).
Also... Vanitas. OMG, Vanitas. Vocally speaking, it was Sora vs Sora (Haley Joel Osment plays them both), but that moment when Sora yells Vanitas's name in Ventus's voice... OMG! I'm dying to see how they're gonna bring them all back...!

In the next episode, we'll talk about the Caribbean (Pirates of the Caribbean) and San Fransokyo (Big Hero 6).

Until then, see you around!
